Home Remodeling Projects on the Rise

Omaha Homeowners can Enjoy the Outdoors Year-Round and
Improve Home Value with a Patio Room Retreat

OMAHA, Neb.— Jan. 12, 2005 — Americans will spend between $220 billion and $225 billion on home remodeling projects in 2005, according to the National Association of Home Builders. The price of housing is going up, so remodeling an existing home can be more cost effective than buying a new one.

Omahans are part of this national trend. This time of year, inquiries about enclosed sunrooms or patio rooms keep area remodelers’ phones ringing. Homeowners can choose to build a patio room to expand their homes’ living space and add to the value of their homes while creating an all-season indoor sanctuary.

“When the weather turns cold, like it is now, we get a lot of calls about building enclosed patio rooms,” said Jim Carlson, president of Betterliving Patios & Sunrooms. “People want to increase their living space and be able to enjoy the outdoors – in a warm, comfortable environment, of course.

“A patio room fits the need and is relatively inexpensive compared to the value it brings to a house and to a family’s quality of life. A patio room is customized to a homeowner’s wants and needs – everything from the size, roofline, amenities – you name it.”

Sunrooms are custom-built for each homeowner. Generally, construction takes one week and the overall process takes four to eight weeks, from order to completion.

Betterliving Patio & Sunrooms of Omaha will be a featured display at the Feb. 3 – 6 Annual Omaha Home & Garden Expo and Omaha Lawn, Flower & Patio Show at the Qwest.
